We have lost another dear cousin. Janet Mary (Schafer) Welter (1948-2015) of Ottosen, Iowa died at 6:30 am this morning. Janet is survived by her husband David Welter, children Jesse (husband of Shawn) Welter, Jillian (wife of James) Hansen, Justin (husband of Allison) Welter; grandchildren Kayla, Cassidy, Alexis, and Ryker Welter, Tyler and Cooper Hansen, and Emma Welter; and siblings Francis (husband of Nancy) Schafer, Karla (wife of Clarence) Hanson, Patricia (widow of James) Keeble, Linda (widow of Ray) Konken, Dorothy (widow of Allen) Struthers, Anna (wife of David) Schwint, and Theresa (wife of Norris) McKee.
Janet was the daughter of Carl Schafer, granddaughter of Lizzie (Schmidt) Schafer, great granddaughter of Karl Schmidt, 2xgreat granddaughter of Dietrich Schmidt Jr., 3xgreat granddaughter of Dietrich Schmidt Sr., 4xgreat granddaughter of Friedrich Schmidt, 5xgreat granddaughter of Johannes Schmidt Jr., 6xgreat granddaughter of Johannes Schmidt Sr., 7xgreat granddaughter of Hans Heinrich Schmidt, and 8xgreat granddaughter of Hans Schmidt.
